The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.-Thomas Jefferson

there is no such thing as gun control other than hitting your target because you can only outlaw the sale of guns to law abiding people with licenses and the training to use the weapon safely and properly.you cant keep the murderers from buying the guns from illegal dealers without registering them making it easier to kill someone and toss the weapon and it not be connected to you.

i am 100% FOR gun control, thats why i always make sure my fingers OFF the trigger untill i am ready to open fire on my local highschool because girls dont talk to me, or one of the teachers gave me a bad grade, or because one of my wannabe, idiotic, gang banger friends tells me they'll let me in their club if i do it..(sarcasm runs rampant in my comments, btw)

Living in Chicago(an oppressed state) we cannot have guns unless we pay at last $250.00 for the initial registration and then MORE money for each gun you intend to register. While I am exempt from this registration,it is illegal and violates our Constitutional Rights in that we are being FORCED to pay a fee to use our god given rights.

Guns control SOUNDS good, but when can we expect robbers, school shooters, and gang members to disarm? Will everyone just switch back to using bow and arrows, while the government gets the automatic assault rifles and never misuses them against us (as if we don't have enough problems with the tasers?). Come one.

Gun control means hitting your target.

@officernarc That's a great idea! a) A 9mm hollowpoint fmj is about .25 to .50 cts a round. Cheaper than paying a years worth of salary, medical bills, food, electricity, sewage, water and the bills that he racks up for medical of the corrections officer he assaulted. b) The POS's out there may think twice that whatever they do might get them the death penalty. Apparently, you've never had a personal hands on dealing with the scum miscreants of this world. If you ever do, good luck.

@nosherz Cont...The Supreme Court has ruled that the police have no duty to protect individuals, and at least one state (CA) has a law saying the same thing. You can't rely on the police to protect you because 1) they may not be able to, and 2) they may not want to. No, we don't face threats from Indians anymore, but we do face threats from murderers, rapists, arsonists, gangsters, etc. My point was that if you disagree with the 2A that's fine. But the only way to not obey it is to repeal it.
jonestim491 (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
@nosherz And the 3rd Amendmend prohibited the government from quartering soldiers in private homes without consent. That doesn't happen anymore like it did at the time it was written. However, that doesn't mean that we should just disregard it now because it's not "relevant" now. The same applied with the 2nd Amendment. The threat of an attack on your life is still very real, and the government can (and still does) abuse its powers....Cont.

@jonestim491 ........Which of these factors is still relevent over 200 years on, because maybe there's something i'm missing ? |
